Chris Almy, LCSW

Chris graduated in 2023 from the University of Utah's Master of Social Work program and specializes in adult individual and relationship psychotherapy. His areas of emphasis are in trauma, relationships, and sexual health and wellness.

He has worked successfully with a wide array of clients, including those who present with: anxiety, depression, personality disorders, bipolar disorder, trauma, relationship problems, sexual performance and dysfunction issues, and paraphilic disorders. His therapeutic approach is eclectic, holistic, and humanistic, as he believes that incorporating all parts and aspects of a person and their life is imperative in successfully progressing in mental health treatment.

Chris is certified in Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) and Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TFCBT) and is certified as a Level 2 Gottman Therapist. Some other modalities that Chris includes in his treatment are IFS Therapy, MI, EFT, Psychodynamic Therapy, EMDR Therapy, and Ketamine-Assisted Psychotherapy (KAP).

Chris is passionate about romantic relationship dynamics and sexual wellness and works to ensure that his clients receive excellent therapy. Chris also emphasizes safety and integrity in the therapy space and works to ensure that physical and emotional boundaries are respected. He wants people of all backgrounds to know that they are welcome, and has experience working with people in the LGBTQIA+ community, people in the Trans community, people identifying as polyamorous or nonmonogamous, and people who are neurodiverse.

Chris also understands the importance that religion and spirituality have for many people and works to incorporate those as necessary. A Utah native, Chris is generally familiar with Christian and LDS beliefs. In addition to this, Chris is particularly knowledegable in areas related to Paganism, Wicca, Animism, and Pantheism.
